Political CartoonsIn 1754 Benjamin Franklin published his famous "Live Free or Die" cartoon. Since then, political cartoonists have long used their skills to both praise & attack, as well as express their opinions on the most urgent political issues of the day.
Since then, whenever a debate has broken out in the United States, political cartoons have been there to take part in the argument—and sometimes to push it to its limits. 6th grade is a great time to start learning how to analyze a political cartoon. They'll only make sense if you know what is going on in the world around you. Use this Cartoon Analysis Worksheet to gain a better understanding of any political cartoon. |
